Cristian Gonzalez, CPA has been a CPA since 2013 and has been in public accounting since 2007. Together with Tom Castillo, he purchased Seghetti Waxler in 2015. Cristian lives in Salinas with his two daughters, Jocelyn and Olivia and Son, Levi. His wife, Korina, went to be with the Lord August 27, 2022.

Tom Castillo, CPA has been a CPA since 2012 and has been in public accounting since 2009. Together with Cristian Gonzalez, he purchased Seghetti Waxler in 2015. Tom lives in Scotts Valley with his wife, Lori, daughter, Penelope, and son, Nolan.

Alan Windt, CPA is focused on providing tax services to small businesses and individuals. He’s a graduate of Cal State Fullerton and has worked with Seghetti Waxler since 2017. Every Wednesday night, he trades in his 10-key for a hockey stick and shoots for the back of the net.

Brandon Belanger, CPA has worked in various roles in public accounting and private industry, most recently having served as an Accounting Manager in the Biotech and Clean Energy industries. This is Brandon's second stint with Seghetti Waxler, previously having held the position of Tax Manager from 2016 - 2020. Brandon has also worked in Public Accounting at KPMG and Rothstein Kass. Brandon has many hobbies, including SCUBA diving, snowboarding and golf. He lives in Walnut Creek, CA.

Kat joined Seghetti Waxler in December 2020 and began working as our receptionist. She now acts as our accounting administrator handling a myriad of tasks on our accounting team. Kat holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University Long Beach where she played NCAA Division I Water Polo. Previously, she held a position as Director of a child care facility in Scotts Valley.

Richa has over ten years of experience working with various firms in public accounting in the U.S. and India, including Ernst & Young. Since she moved to the U.S., Richa has worked with a San Jose, CA accounting firm and an accounting firm specializing in High Net Worth individuals and alternative investment partnerships (Hedge, Private Equity & Venture Capital). Richa lives in Santa Clara, CA with her husband, Janak.

Lori manages the client experience and takes the lead on business development, ensuring Seghetti Waxler is delivering the best possible service to clients. Previously, she has worked in software sales at a Silicon Valley SaaS business for over 10 years, working closely with sales teams and executives to evaluate, design and deliver software solutions to address key business objectives and executive priorities.

Mateo provides tax services to individuals and small businesses throughout Santa Cruz. He holds an Associates in Accounting from Gavilan College. Prior to joining Seghetti Waxler, Mateo was an accountant at All Bay Mechanical, Inc., a small HVAC contractor in the South Bay. In his free time, he enjoys tending to the family ranch and spending time with his dog, Leo.

Sami is our office Quarterback. She is our primary point of contact and processes all our tax returns and client requests. She enjoys walking her dog, Sailor, at Its Beach and riding dirt bikes with her husband Reese.

Miguel majored in Anthropology and Geography at California Polytechnic State San Luis Obispo. Recognizing his aptitude for finance and math, he joined Seghetti Waxler in 2023 as a staff accountant. Miguel helps to prepare business and individual returns for clients in Santa Cruz. Miguel has lived in the Pleasure Point area of Santa Cruz his entire life and attended Soquel High where he was a star athlete in football, baseball and soccer.

Michele "Shelly" Paulsen is our longest tenured employee. She provides customers with excellent service and processes many of the source documents needed to file tax returns. Shelly lives in Scotts Valley with her husband, Frank. When she's not working she enjoys spending time with her adult sons, Mark and Nick, and her two grandsons, Hudson and Brixton

Michael attended Eastern Oregon University and Washington State University majoring in business. After spending nearly two years in software sales for a Silicon Valley SaaS company specializing in incentive compensation, he joined Seghetti Waxler as a staff accountant. Michael has always had a strong aptitude for math and finance and has been a great addition to our team. Michael is a native of Scotts Valley but is currently working remotely from his home in Austin, Texas where he has lived for over a year.
